One of the proofs for the tight cooperation of our institutes is the common library of the Computer Science Department, the Department of Applied Mathematics and both the Max Planck Institutes. This Campus Library of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (CIAM) has been established in April 2004. The result is one of Germanies largest computer science libraries. In 2009 when new buildings will be finished, the libraries of the Department of Mathematics and of the German Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence will be added.

Moreover, CIAM provides also services in publishing and searching scientific literature.
